Paul Whitebear is a nine-year-old Cree boy known to his mother, father, brother and sister as Macous (Little Bear). Macous learns and lives his Cree heritage through the storytelling and experiences shared with his Uncle Joe, moushum (grandfather), kookum (grandmother) and his parents. In The Sacred Eagle Feather, Macous visits his moushum and learns about the traditional significance of eagle feathers.
